Owner’s Representation
An Owner’s Representative acts as the homeowner’s advocate throughout the custom home building process, overseeing the project to ensure it meets the agreed design, quality, budget, and timeline expectations. The Owner’s Rep coordinates between the homeowner, builder, architect, and subcontractors, reviews schedules and budgets, monitors construction progress, and helps make informed decisions. Step 1
pre-construction
Firstly, whether you have a design team or you choose to work with one of our architects, we’ll collaborate to ensure the pre-construction process is smooth and efficient. Our first step is to understand your goals. Then, we’ll help you understand your options. As an experienced Colorado custom homebuilder, we realize the challenges and opportunities of building a mountain home. We always come to the table with solutions and ideas that will help your vision come to life. Throughout the pre-construction process, we’ll work closely with you and your architect to create a design that ensures your home is built exactly to your needs and specifications.
Step 2
Construction
As Summit County contractors, we understand that open communication is key throughout the construction process. We invite you to ask questions and count on us to be responsive, informative and honest. If you live locally, regular site visits and walk-throughs will be scheduled. If you’re out of town, we are diligent about providing consistent status updates and photos. Regardless of your location, you always have access to Tony as a dedicated project manager. We’ll help you select your finishes, appliances and fixtures and facilitate your requests for upgrades or changes.
Internally, our business is efficient and organized. On the job site, our sub-contractors are the best in the custom home business, and we have established relationships with all of them. We frequently inspect job sites to ensure schedules are adhered to and all safety and security protocols are followed.
Step 3
Post-construction
Your satisfaction with every detail of your new Colorado custom home is important to us. Once your home is complete, we’ll walk you through how to use the major appliances and all the custom features. You’ll also receive a binder containing information about care, maintenance and warranties. In addition, we are aware that not all Summit County contractors will offer a warranty with their work. Another thing that sets us apart is our commitment to our craftsmanship. For this reason, Mathison Custom Builders stands behind our work and offers a two-year warranty on our workmanship. Furthermore, after you move in and begin enjoying your home, we’ll be there to answer any questions that may arise.

In 2009, we purchased Mathison Custom Builder’s award-winning Parade home. We looked at many different homes, but this home stood out above the rest. The addition came in on time and budget with the utmost quality. In the five years we have owned the home, it has proven to be very well built and a pleasure to come home to.
